SEO Executive

In this role, you will support the SEO Lead in driving organic growth and revenue across Tesco's core business pillars, including Groceries, Marketplace, F&F, Whoosh, Local Stores, Careers, and Recipes, ensuring strong search visibility and performance across the site.

  • Annual bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary.

You will be responsible for
Delivering day-to-day SEO activity across Tesco's digital ecosystem, driving improvements in organic visibility, customer discoverability, and commercial performance across key journeys.

Using SEO data, customer search behaviour, and competitor insights to identify opportunities across Tesco's core business pillars.

Conducting keyword research, search intent analysis, content optimisation, and internal linking recommendations to help customers find relevant products, services, and information.

Supporting technical SEO analysis across large-scale page templates, including crawlability, indexation, canonicalisation, structured data, redirects, internal linking, page speed, and JavaScript-rendered content.

Analysing performance across a range of tools and platforms, translating insights into clear recommendations, reporting, and prioritised actions.

Building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while championing the importance of organic search across the business.

Translating SEO recommendations into clear briefs, tickets, and acceptance criteria to ensure accurate and effective implementation of technical and content changes.

Monitoring organic performance, search trends, SERP developments, and emerging AI-driven search behaviours to identify risks and opportunities.

Supporting ecommerce SEO at scale, including category and product page optimisation, product data quality, Merchant Center visibility, structured data implementation, and seasonal range discoverability.

Supporting local SEO strategy to enhance the visibility of Tesco stores across the UK.

Producing clear, concise SEO reporting and stakeholder updates, outlining performance, activity, risks, opportunities, and expected impact.

Working closely with the SEO Lead to support the delivery of strategy and key initiatives.

Contributing to a positive team environment, while continuously developing your skills and expertise in SEO.

You will need
4+ years' hands-on SEO experience within ecommerce, retail, agency, or another large-scale environment, with a proven track record of improving organic visibility and revenue.

Strong technical SEO expertise, with the ability to translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

Proficiency in key SEO and analytics tools (e.g. GA4, Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/SEMrush, Merchant Center).

Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to turn insights into prioritised actions and clear, commercially focused reporting.

Experience working cross-functionally with developers, product, UX, and commercial teams to deliver SEO improvements end-to-end.

Solid understanding of ecommerce SEO and search behaviour, including category/product optimisation, search intent, and customer journeys.
