WHAT TO EXPECT
As the senior analyst you will support and supervise an offshore team. Dedicated to fulfilling all aspects of VAT reporting, VAT refund claims, and VAT accounting processes for any VAT returns deemed to be in scope of the Central VAT Team. Also assisting in providing VAT advisory and policy services to all areas of Jaguar Land Rover Ltd, SRO, and other business areas as assigned.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Reviewing work (e.g. VAT returns) produced by offshore team, with a view to ensure high accuracy, and to meet tight deadlines
• Ensure off-shore team processes are carried out to a high degree of accuracy, understood, and documented. Consistently, looking for process improvement and efficiency
• Support/carry out root cause resolution of any compliance reporting issues or errors identified during the process
• Addressing supplier, business, and customer VAT queries. Answer audit questions (from any party)
• Support/implement any VAT process changes resulting from any business or systems change. Fully assessing VAT impact including, compliance requirements, financial impact assessment, process requirements, contract review and legal amendments to protect JLR's interests
• Support the VAT advisory managers in monitoring of industry policy, Tax Authority policy, and legislative VAT developments. Helping to turn policy and legislative changes that are relevant into meaningful communication to the VAT compliance team and the wider business
• Support the provision of business requirements (VAT compliance & VAT liability) for IT systems and to assist with conducting UAT testing as VAT SME
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
• Experience in Finance and accounting systems
• Strong experience in reviewing VAT returns
• Sound understanding of VAT principles
• Proven ability to develop processes
• Proven understanding of GL reconciliations and financial postings
