Scope of Role
You will report to our Head of Engineering for Apps in London., you will be based in London working hybrid and will be in the office two days a week ITRS is two years into building the next generation monitoring platform, ranging from infrastructure monitoring to financial services. As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will lead early prototyping of ideas with a focus on efficient feedback loops. You are expected to challenge the existing UIs and views in the company but should also be open to compromise. You will also lead the look and feel of the product(s) and guide the team on user workflows and navigations.
The team operates in a fluent and creative environment where everyone is encouraged to have a say in the product. Figma is used by Developers and Product Owners to define UI mockups, and the mockups are often shown to external clients for early feedback. We favour rapid prototyping over waterfall processes and favour early releases over perfection.
As an Senior UX/UI designer you will:
- Have a genuine interest in data-intensive systems where the challenge is to extract and present the most important data-points in an intuitive way.
- You have an interest in designs which help people solve hard problems, such as monitoring of business-critical systems and rapid indecent investigation. Our products are often used by mission-critical support departments, and you will imagine yourself in those situations when designing the UX for the products.
You will have:
- Have 5+ years of experience designing data-driven applications.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, efficient interface designs.
- Experience with design systems and shared component libraries.
- Produce design assets ranging from whiteboard sketches to high fidelity mockups.
- Communicate design concepts to team members.
- Lead collaborative design discussions / activities and lead agreement.
- Visually express complex ideas.
- Have bachelor's or master's degree in design related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Analytical UX problem defining, researching & solving Designing, prototyping, and presenting user flows to both wireframe quality and high fidelity.
- Architect technical requirements for features and ongoing design iterations.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a working Ul design system.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth design handover and assist in client- side implementation.
- Generate and collate assets necessary to complete the Ul to shipping standard.
- Using your experience to augment and build the skills and capabilities of the existing UI/UX team.
- Expertise with UI/UX design tools, for wireframing and interactive prototyping, including Figma and other general design tools, such as Axure, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Excellent at creative problem-solving - creating simple solutions to complex problems.
- Previous experience mentoring, upskilling and inspiring design team members to excellence
- You have a solid grasp of visual design and user interface design principles.
- Use your experience to augment and build the skills and capabilities of the existing UI/UX team.
