Title: SeniorUser Experience (UX) Designer

Salary: £48k plus London Allowance if applicable

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract Type: 12 Month FTC

Based: London / Home

Marie Curie is looking for a talented Senior UX Designer who is excited by great user-centred design to join our close-knit, customer-facing digital team. This is a new role, and an opportunity to lead change for both the charity and for our users.

The Senior UX Designer will lead the charity in the vision and implementation of best practice user journeys and experiences, working with all areas including Marketing, Fundraising, Caring services, Policy and Research. They will support our internal users to achieve the outcomes they need from our digital services, based on user research and insight, supported by excellence in design, accessibility, and usability. They will also shape and define external user interactions with Marie Curie and its digital products.

This is an exciting time to join the team as we refocus our work to better support people under our North Star Strategy. The strategy was put in place to ensure a better end of life for all. This is an opportunity for an experienced UX designer to make their mark, own processes and practices and lead on innovation around good user experience design for both existing digital products, services and applications whilst supporting the design and delivery of new Digital products and services.

What we are looking for:

  • You will be creative, with the ability to design intuitive, consistent, and responsive mobile-first products.
  • You will have excellent knowledge of Accessibility W3C standards and be able to demonstrate where and why these standards must be applied, strong communication skills both written, verbal and presentation and be highly IT literate.
  • You will have an excellent knowledge and experience in configuring and developing reporting from tools designed to monitor user activity, such SessionCam (Glassbox); Usability, Google Analytics etc. as well as being fluent in Design Research and Design Thinking methods. You will have experience in working with data and design to produce change.
  • Proven experience with responsive design tools such as. InVision, Adobe XD, Sketch and Figma is required along with prototyping tools e.g. Marvel and Axure ad framer. You will understand design patterns, pattern libraries and design systems and be able to incorporate brand guidelines and structure into the UX. The majority of the work you do will be designing for a CMS so experience using page layouts, content blocks etc for a CMS is vital.
  • With a collaborative approach, you will be a strong communicator, treating stakeholders as customers from both a non-technical and technical background, building strong relationships, trust and buy-in to support the Organisation to realise our North Star.
  • A great team player with the ability to prioritise between multiple projects and you will enjoy running and reporting on workshops, whilst working to targets and deadlines.
