About the Role:

• An opportunity to join the market leading and hugely experienced Personal Accident team within Liberty Specialty Markets.
• Exposure to a broad spread of A&H risks written within the London portfolio but stretching across global risk locations
• Look to maintain and build relationships with brokers, clients and business partners in order to renew and acquire new business for the portfolio.
• Drive team strategy and planning in short and medium term including oversight of elements of business planning process

About the Department & Team:

• A market-leading team with extensive experience in the Personal Accident world
• Predominantly a binder book of A&H business which has been developed over many years thanks to the strong relationships built by the current senior leadership of the team
• We underwrite a worldwide book of PA business to wide range of brokers and clients, focusing on coverholder relationships, most notably in the US, Holland and Singapore
• Agile work environment - office and homeworking
• Book is predominantly written on syndicate paper (Liberty Managing Agency Limited) but with the additional strength of being able to utilise LSM company stamp (Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe SE)

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and personal authority to meet business objectives, including:
• Negotiating rates, terms and conditions for existing and new business
• Compliance with the production of documentation in accordance with contract certainty requirements
• Contribute new ideas and concepts to support the development and delivery of the business plan including expansion into new territories or distribution networks as may be approved
• Contribute and participate in all underwriting meetings in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice
• Develop knowledge of Personal Accident market dynamics and market cycles to support the performance of the underwriting team
• Support the review and analysis of the portfolio, to identify progress towards business objectives
• Work with the operations team to process entries, as required, properly onto relevant systems in a timely manner. Ensuring accuracy of data with relation to both underwriting and aggregate exposures including control of coverholder bordereaux submissions
• Assist with cross selling within Liberty Mutual and LSM.
• Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role. • In virtue of your role's prescribed legal entity responsibilities, you will be required to undertake your role with due regard to the prescribed responsibilities and regulatory requirements associated with that role - which may require undertaking appropriate learning & development.

Skills and Experience:

• Extensive Experience in underwriting or broking
• Understanding of prevailing market conditions within the Personal Accident market
• Good knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
• Chartered Insurance Institute qualification(s) gained
• Intermediate level understanding of relevant software including Excel and other software packages
• A high level of numeracy and literacy skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-starter with strong organisational skills
• Attention to detail
• Develop existing and new distribution channels
