Join JP Morgan Chase's business accelerator team, a hub for innovative product development, where we design, build, and manage new consumer and business-facing products. We're seeking a UI designer with a deep understanding of digital product design and a balanced knowledge of interaction, motion, colour, iconography, typography, and visual design. As a Lead UI Designer within our business accelerator team, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to create new B2B customer-focused products and services. You will lead and advise on the delivery of visual UI designs, contribute to Design Systems work, and ensure deliverables are consistent with the brand. This role provides a chance to have a significant impact on the overall direction of our products and services, shaping the future together with our customers, users, and team members.

Job Responsibilities:
• Lead and advise on how to ensure the delivery of visual UI designs are implemented effectively through product design to engineering build to deployment
• Lead and create high-quality visual UI design outcomes like mood boards, concepts, UI layouts, design system components and style guides
• Proactively contribute to Design Systems work collaborating with product designers and engineers, ensuring deliverables are consistent
• Partner with leads and stakeholders to identify and evolve visual design directions
• Understand wider design application including brand, experience and implementation
• Base decisions on solid visual design principles and customer data, championing accessibility and usability through visual, interface and interaction design
• Having a deep understanding of the business drivers behind the product goals, providing accurate estimation of tasks and help with prioritisation
• Deliver visual UI design outcomes to stakeholders in a timely manner and efficient execution.
• Work closely with other disciplines to understand and provide feedback to design context
• Manage stakeholders and proactively solve issues affecting visual UI design quality
• Support best practices and methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness, upholding design consistency and excellence of visual UI design deliverables

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

• Strong hands on experience in roles such as Senior or Lead UI designer, across multiple devices and platforms
• Strong portfolio of deep understanding of visual UI design fundamentals (colour, iconography, typography, structure and visual hierarchy) and solid application of
user interface (usability, comprehension, and accessibility)
• Experienced in creating UI design using input from user research, business requirements, technology and brand
• Experience of designing and/or implementing solutions for products/ services as well as production knowledge of the delivery process
• Experience in creating visual design language and UI for Design Systems, component libraries, style guides, and documentation with examples of interaction design (aesthetics, animations, and transitions)
• Awareness and practical understanding of B2B design, current technologies and their application and relevance to digital experiences
• Ability to influence others and provide thought leadership on user centered design, Comfortable developing and sustaining effective and cooperative working relationships with peers, managers and other internal or external stakeholders
• Flexibility / adaptability (ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus)
• Expert knowledge of modern design systems, prototyping software and design tools (we use Figma), across a variety of mediums and needs: on paper, in Principle, and other digital methods
• Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment, helping create an environment where people can do their best work
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field or equivalent professional experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
• Experience in the Atlassian suite of software (Jira & Confluence) is desirable

  • Experience with B2B applications is a plus
