Role overview

We are looking for a Senior Trend Researcher to join our dynamic, ambitious and close-knit consultancy team. Working closely with our team of global consultants, you will be responsible for developing solution-driven research (qualitative and quantitative) that produces actionable future-focused insights for clients' bespoke needs.

With proven experience, the Senior Trend Researcher will have a broad understanding of trend research, forecasting, analysis and business strategy. In order to succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

A strong understanding of cultural trends, consumer mindsets, market analysis and the role data and analytics plays in commercial success.

Confidence in translating macro and consumer trends into thought-provoking insight across the industries of Beauty, Fashion, Interiors and Food & Drink.

You will be an excellent collaborator, with a focus on building world-class research and supporting large-scale projects, willing to stretch and apply your research skill set across different industries and client briefs.

You will be proactive in collaborating with consultants and presenting new ideas that deliver future-focused insights and pinpoint trends that will impact the client's business.

The team

You will be part of a dynamic, high-performing team, made up of 40+ consultants, strategists, data analysts and researchers who bring together bespoke solutions for a wide range of clients across the globe. You will be working with industry experts and thought leaders with backgrounds in - creative strategy, product innovation, design, marketing, buying and merchandising, data analytics and trend forecasting.

Key accountabilities

    • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research across a variety of methodologies (both primary and secondary) in line with project needs and client objectives.
    • Able to work across industries and clients, and pivot research focus (sources, TOV, terminology) with confidence.
    • Can clearly articulate findings, concepts and ideas from research in a concise manner across multiple formats (written, visual, digital, audio, etc).
    • Able to deliver compelling and actionable analysis ('so what') strategically linked back to research objectives.
    • Support senior colleagues in commercial activity by contributing to the development of compelling pitch material. Familiar working with internal commercial teams (New Business, Account Managers).
    • Play an active role in project management and admin tasks, collaborating and supporting senior colleagues and project leads.
    • Present to key stakeholders both internally and externally, participating in Q&A and client workshops where appropriate.
    • Travel nationally and internationally to deliver high-value consulting projects to clients, working across time zones with a diverse set of clients.
    • Good organisation, communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently within an international team to ensure strategy & outputs are of a consistently high standard.
    • Excellent time management, with proven experience in effectively tracking and delivering against multiple concurrent project deadlines.

Skills, experience & qualifications required

    • Qualifications and proven experience working in an agency environment, with evidence of consulting for clients across key industries of Beauty, Fashion, Interiors and Food & Drink.
    • Experience in working across multiple research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) to develop thought-provoking insight.
    • Ability to understand and analyse quantitative data and pinpoint consumer, marketing and product trends that will impact the market.
    • Good presentation skills with proven experience of presenting to internal stakeholders, external clients and/or at events.
    • Confident and articulate in both written and visual communication, with a confident style of writing and reporting in English.
    • Technical skills: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace. A basic knowledge and/or capabilities in data visualisation software such as Tableau is an advantage.
