Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Maths and English qualification.
• Care Certificate or willingness to work towards attaining it.

Desirable criteria

• Care certificate
• Evidence on continuing development

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria

• Demonstrate confidence when caring for patients, and interacting with colleagues as an effective theatre team.
• Ability to work under own initiative, without direct supervision.
• Understanding of confidentiality in the work place.
• Good organisational skills and prioritise workload
• Good interpersonal skills • Approachable and caring.

Desirable criteria

• Previous experience in healthcare setting
• Willing to train to do venepuncture and cannulation
• Willing to train to take accurate ECGs
• Willing to train to complete a set of clinical observations and escalate findings.
• Ability to take set of observations/vital signs.
• Ability to take accurate ECGs.
• Ability to undertake venepuncture and cannulation.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Essential criteria

• Good communication - verbal/written
• Demonstrates understanding of confidentiality
• Works well with in a team
• Be able to work on own initiative
