The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) is looking for enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Senior Theatre Practitioner (Anaesthetic) to join our team. This is an exciting time to join a team working at the forefront of cutting-edge healthcare.

Our Theatre Department provides a comprehensive neurosurgical service covering the full range of neurosurgical patients including all cranial, simple, and complex spinal conditions. It specialises in surgery for epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, and other movement disorders. There is an excellent team of radiologists and vascular neurologists performing interventional procedures. The theatre department comprises of 6 theatres, plus Interventional Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The recovery area has 9 beds.

The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and an ability to put their patients at the centre of care demonstrating kindness and patience. A desire to learn is essential and will see you excelling in your field.

Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or Registered ODP with Dip HE, NVQ 3, or City & Guilds 752
  • Teaching & Assessment Level 3, ENB 998/C&G 7307, Cert. ed., other relevant qualification or equivalent experience (FO)**
  • Recognised Post Registration course in Day Surgery/ Anaesthetic/ Theatre/ Recovery/ other relevant accredited course or relevant clinical experience within a theatre or day surgery environment

Experience

Essential criteria

  • RGNs and ODPs: Previous experience at Band 5
  • RGNs and ODPs: Previous experience in this speciality
