Senior Test Specialist

Basingstoke - Onsite 5 days per week

Please note - You will need to be eligible to undergo security clearance prior to commencing the role

Your role

We are looking for self-motivated Senior Test Analysts to join our existing dynamic Test Practice. You may lead a team of Testers and will work closely with all project stakeholders. Working alongside a team of dedicated professionals, you will be driven to find better, faster, more effective ways of testing and value to the projects you are working on. You will lead by example and work to develop your team and emerging talent to strengthen the Test Practice and build our reputation as a center of excellence. This is a fast-paced environment where you will have the chance to grow and build upon your existing knowledge and ability

Core skills

  • Manual / Automated testing to include: Non-functional, Functional and End-to-End Testing for Application, Infrastructure, Hardware, and Regression
  • Production of Test artefacts including but not limited to Test Plans, Test Scripts, Test Reports, Defect Management and Reporting
  • Essential experience in but not limited to Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, SCOM, SCCM, VM Ware
  • Execution of Manual Test Scripts
  • Requirements Management
  • Clear understanding of multiple delivery methodologies such as Agile, V-Model & Waterfall.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Program and Project Managers to deliver the required testing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent at building strong working relationships with peers and colleagues
  • ISTQB qualification at Foundation Level or above
  • Desirable but not essential to have experience in, NXLog, McAfee, SQL, Terminal Server, Juniper Networking, Cisco Viptela, Cisco ISE, KeePass

Your experience:

  • Experience of all phases of testing, including but not limited to Integration, System, Regression
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Configuration/Change/Release management principles
  • Demonstrable Knowledge of version control systems like Subversion.
  • Demonstrable understanding the Software Development and Testing Lifecycles
  • An understanding of and experience of multiple delivery methodologies such as Agile, V-Model & Waterfall
  • Demonstrable experience of testing both Infrastructure and Applications
  • Demonstrable experience of identifying test data and creating test cases in response to clearly defined requirements. Including the creation of test cases in areas of technical testing specialism for both manual and automated testing
  • Demonstrable experience of executing test cases and recording test results in accordance with established test plan(s). Including the execution of test cases in areas of technical testing specialism.
  • Demonstrable experience of defect logging, investigation and support
  • Demonstrable experience of collecting test related metrics
  • Demonstrable experience of organization of test materials, environments, tools and resources required to deliver the planned testing activities and co-ordination of the delivery of testing against the schedule, reporting test progress, risks and test incidents
  • Creation of high-quality test plan documents on small to medium projects or discrete pieces of work that address the requirements and mitigate the risks of the solution under test.
  • Accountable for the deliverables of the test team for a small project to agreed schedule.
  • Understands the requirements for testing within the project and agrees testing scope with stakeholders.
  • Experience of writing Test scripts, Test Reports, Defect Management and Reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience using JIRA.

You will be required to have an SC clearance in place ahead of commencing the role.
