Location - Newcastle/Edinburgh/Glasgow Permanent

Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid, however you should be able to travel to our the either Newcastle, Edinburgh or Glasgow for at least 1 day per week for this position

We're looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our Smarter Data Decisioning team.

What you'll be doing

  • Collaborate with our Products Owners, Architects, and Engineers to shape the quality of our products and platforms.
  • You'll help drive up the quality for our customers through implementing our best practices and standards.
  • Delivery of risk-based test approaches: Defining test coverage based on the risks to our customers.
  • Working proficiently in Agile testing: Understanding of agile methodologies and how testing fits into agile delivery
  • Implementation and maintenance of automation test suites to provide greater efficiency in what we do
  • Achieving compliance with organisational policies and procedures, and relevant regulatory codes.

The bank operates a wide variety of products and technologies, you are not required to be an expert in all of these, but you will be required to get comfortable with new products and technologies.

We are looking for you to bring skills and experience that will have a demonstrable impact on how we deliver testing within our feature teams.

We need you to have

  • Experience of working in collaborative agile development environments with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience in data testing with in-depth understanding of data testing concepts, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL query writing, data extraction, and manipulation from relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience in IBM InfoSphere Data Stage or similar tool

And if you have any of these, even better

  • Experience in financial services.
  • Automation test tooling experience
  • Experience coaching junior staff.
  • Understanding of Behaviour Driven Development.

Following the announcement regarding Tesco's strategic partnership with Barclays, this role will support our Banking team and be with Barclays.
