What you'll do

We are looking for a Senior Programme Manager to join our Technology Hub in London or Newbury HQ, bringing a broad range of experiences and a passion for lean programme governance and modern engineering technologies & practices.
This role holds overall accountability for Digital & IT Integration activities for a key strategic programme, with organisation-wide impact. With multi-million pound spend, this role represents a senior strategic leadership position where you will be a trusted technology delivery partner for the Vodafone UK business.

Main responsibilities :

  • Define the vision for IT Integration, aligning it with overall business objectives.
  • Develop an Integration strategy that outlines the approach, principles, and key milestones for merging IT systems, processes, and teams specifically for Technology teams.
  • Work with stakeholders to assess the existing systems, infrastructure, applications, and data - Identify Integration elements, risks & opportunities, decide on applications to consolidate / enhance / retire / modernise based on the Digital and IT Stragey.
  • Work with business as well as technology stakeholders to evaluate technology stacks from the perspective of harmonisation - assess, plan and drive deliverables related to IT Integration, focussing on impacts of integration on D&IT Systems
  • Work with on effectively implementing saperation activities which are required to execute the integration program.
  • Create a detailed integration plan that covers all aspects of IT, including technology, applications, data, and processes. Define a clear roadmap with specific milestones and timelines, ensuring Operational excellence.
  • Ensure budget spend and scope is in alignment with Integration planning business plan - Set and adjust budgets within the programme.
  • Build & maintain high performing Programme teams within your own structure and matrix structures, Ensure partner resource is set up and controlled in an effective way to deliver on the Programme roadmap
  • Lead the successful delivery of the nominated sub workstream within Integration Programme.
  • Work closely with Product/Programme owners at E Band and Director level to report on and plan effectively the delivery of their transformational Programmes
  • Establish governance structures for decision-making, escalation, and accountability. Regularly report progress to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Leader with the right culture and a track record of making cultural change in complex organisations
  • Are able to evidence the progression, potential realisation, and creation of teams
  • A proven record of accomplishment leading large technical delivery teams with an in-depth understanding of the technologies, processes and techniques required for delivering high quality solutions within a fast-moving organisation.
  • A deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle including multiple delivery methodologies with the ability to mentor, motivate and shape high performing teams
  • Proven experience of leadership and transformational delivery in Technology, working across multiple delivery teams, methodologies and delivery vehicles
  • Proven experience of governing programmes that have large and varied impacts on D&IT landscape, is preferrable. Deep understanding of the CCS and ECS stack and our Digital landscape is an important contributor to success of this role.
  • Extensive experience in liaising with senior-level stakeholders and delivering successful change initiatives.
  • Strong risk identification and mitigation ability, strong problem management skills to address unexpected challenges on the programme. Ability to handle ambiguity, adapting to changing circumstances and staying Agile in a dynamic integration environment.
  • Strong vendor management skills, ability to collaborate and negotiate, ability to align suppliers and vendors on Integration objectives.
  • You are a strong all-rounder, willing to get involved in every stage of the software development lifecycle when required but can help shape and achieve a strategic view and objective
  • Ability to recruit, grow, retain, and lead a team of people helping them to realise their potential and creating the right environment for them to thrive.
  • Able to represent critical issues and project status updates at a board level when required
  • Proven ability to balance technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills
