What you'll do

We are looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager to join our Technology Hub in London or Newbury HQ, bringing with you a broad range of experiences and a passion for lean programme governance and modern engineering technologies & practices.

The right candidate will be a charismatic leader that can win hearts and minds, binding teams to a vision to drive multiple portfolios of complex delivery across large scale strategic projects and programmes, diving in and out of detail and strategy as and when required. They will embody delivery excellence and ensure full alignment to the business ambition and the wider delivery portfolio.

  • Acts as the key interface with Channels roles (Digital and Assisted) and should support an overall view of execution via these channels
  • Ensure partner resource is set up and controlled in an effective way to deliver on the portfolio roadmap
  • Lead the successful delivery of multiple strategic portfolios and programmes
  • Able to represent critical issues and project status updates at a board level when required
  • Work closely with Product/Portfolio owners at E Band and Director level to report on and plan effectively the delivery of their transformational portfolios
  • Compiling & owning the Technology Programme roadmap, bringing together plans across multiple project streams into one overall perspective.
  • Governing portfolios in line with Digital's SAFe ways of working and Technology's VPDL framework.
  • Embedding and transforming the portfolio team to implement lean governance operating models, valuing ownership, responsiveness, predictability and transparent delivery over pre-prepared project reporting.

Who you are

  • Leader with the right culture and a track record of making cultural change in complex organisations
  • Are able to evidence the progression, potential realisation, and creation of teams
  • Have experience driving Revenue impacting deliverables
  • A proven record of accomplishment leading large technical delivery teams with an in-depth understanding of the technologies, processes and techniques required for delivering high quality solutions within a fast-moving organisation.
  • A deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle including multiple delivery methodologies with the ability to mentor, motivate and shape high performing teams
  • Extensive experience in liaising with senior-level stakeholders and delivering successful change initiatives.
  • Proven experience of leadership and delivery in Technology, ideally with mobile & web platform experience
  • Ideally experience delivering in both Waterfall and Scaled Agile environments.
  • You are a strong all-rounder, willing to get involved in every stage of the software development lifecycle when required but can help shape and achieve a strategic view and objective
