Job description
We are looking for a senior technology/ commercial lawyer of at least 7+ years pqe to join KPMG's UK Office of General Counsel
KPMG LLP and the OGC Commercial team
KPMG LLP is the UK member of the international KPMG network of professional services firms, KPMG provides a wide range of services including technology, consulting, advisory and audit services to clients in a variety of industries. The OGC Commercial team supports KPMG's client facing teams and is part of the UK Office of General Counsel.
This position
KPMG's technology offerings are a core part of the firm's offerings and experiencing rapid growth. The OGC Commercial team is looking to recruit an experienced lawyer to support the business with contract review and negotiation.
The successful applicant will advise partners and senior stakeholders within KPMG UK on client facing activities, covering a wide range of legal, risk and commercial issues relating to professional advisory, consulting and technology services.

The role involves:
- Advising, drafting and negotiating implementation and configuration agreements, managed service agreements, complex and innovative technology agreements, licences, strategic alliances and negotiating customer provided contracts both in the private and public sectors;
- Advising senior stakeholders on commercial, risk and contractual issues within a complex business environment;
- Providing ad hoc support on a variety of other contractual agreements including RFPs, engagement letters, confidentiality and other agreements;
- Producing templates and guidance notes; and
- Providing advice and training to business teams.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- at least 7 years post qualification experience or equivalent (experience working for a professional services firm is beneficial, but not essential);
- excellent knowledge of technology agreements, including agreements relating to system implementation and configurations;
- strong experience advising on, drafting and negotiating complex, multi-jurisdictional master services agreements, complex and innovative technology related agreements, strategic alliances and customer provided contracts;
- experience working within regulated environments; and
- strong commercial awareness and effective risk management skills;
- experience with public sector framework agreements will be useful but is not essential.
