Work Location: Mountsorrel Depot, Hawcliffe Road, Mountsorrel. LE12 7AH

Salary: £35,451 - £39,165 (pro rata for part-time)

Working Hours: 37 hours/week - full time

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a Sign Services Senior Technician to support the delivery of high quality traffic signs and sign maintenance services across the county. In this role, you will help coordinate installation and maintenance works, ensure signage meets national standards, and contribute to the safe and efficient management of the highway network.

You will also provide guidance and support to traffic management supervisor, technicians and operatives, helping to maintain a consistent, professional service. provide technical advice on traffic sign regulations and standards, coordinate work programmes, order materials, liaise with 3rd party contractors, ensure all works meet health and safety and quality requirements,

This role is a "safety critical post" and, consequently, subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with our policies and procedures. A copy of our Substance Testing Policy, Procedure and Guidance is available upon request.

About You

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

  • The essential qualification for this role is a relevant BTEC Higher qualification (Highways, Civil Engineering, Construction or equivalent) Or clear, demonstrable evidence of equivalent skills and experience. Although not essential it would be desirable if you also had NHSS 12D M7 Managers Client Officer, SMST, Sector Scheme / Chapter 8 accreditations and a full UK Driving Licence.
  • It would be desirable if you had experience of Signlab software, with Mimaki flatbed printing, with Mimaki Printer / cutter and with Laminator.
  • You have experience of working in highways, construction, or a related operational service, developing and working as part of a project team on temporary traffic management projects.
  • You have strong problem solving, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines. You also have experience of collaborative working with customers and key stakeholders to deliver outputs and outcomes
  • Good communication, presentation and teamwork skills, remaining calm and positive in challenging situations; you are able to adopt a flexible approach. You also have Strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
  • You have the ability to apply health & safety requirements in the working environment; you have a good knowledge of current highway and temporary traffic management and maintenance standards and current legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the service.
  • You have good IT skills and have the ability to learn the use of service specific systems and software. You are competent at reading drawings, plans, and technical documents use of CAD is desired.
