Summary

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, your primary purpose is to provide strategic leadership and direction in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex technical projects. Drawing upon your extensive experience, you will oversee the program lifecycles, from conception to completion, ensuring that projects align with organizational goals and objectives.

You will successfully oversee the various technical deliveries, product developments, or programmes of work, acting as an equal partner with our Data Technology team and leaders to deliver solutions that add value and help balance, coordinate and track cross-functional dependencies while ensuring the overall delivery remains smooth and efficient.

This will require a hands-on approach, combined with strong technical acumen and excellent stakeholder management, to drive engagement and measures such as OKRs, whilst building strong trust-based partnerships with colleagues and suppliers. You will drive collaborations between technical functions to deliver shared goals providing inspiration, support and mentoring when required, operating as a servant leader. A key attribute will be to motivate others to foster a mindset of continuous improvement across people, process, and technology.

What you'll do

  • Manage, motivate, and support team members, provide guidance, development and delegate responsibilities whilst encouraging progression and retention.
  • Support the Heads of Delivery and Technology in delivering the teams objectives and strategy whilst helping to shape the future direction.
  • Manage the evaluation of potential data tooling capabilities and coordinate the relating proof of concepts through to implementation.
  • Own the creation of business cases to illustrate benefits and achieve additional investment, driven through internal teams and external vendors.
  • Responsible for the management and tracking of costs and risks, providing the relevant mechanisms to enable mitigation and control.
  • Able to lead and formulate impact assessments and challenge with knowledge and experience on proposed quotes for work and delivery.

Who you are

  • Experienced in managing on premise to cloud migration projects within the data space.
  • Exposure to coordinating platform upgrades, essential maintenance, hardware, and software enhancements.
  • Experience working within an Agile delivery framework.
  • Extensive project management background, across data SDLC, and able to apply those disciplines alongside a product model.
  • Experience in service management, specifically ITIL, with a service first approach to delivery.
  • Knowledge of leading large multi-faceted data technology decommission activities.
  • Experience delivering large-scale initiatives across multiple teams and functions.
