Job Description
What you will be doing ?
Our Assurance Technical and Training (ATAT) team is looking for experienced Senior Manager to join their team in London. You'll be one of eleven people in ATAT, delivering a number of key services to a consistently high standard, such as providing engaging training on emerging issues in variety of formats to clients and internal teams and managing bespoke audit methodology to ensure high audit quality.
The ATAT team is embedded in the Assurance and Business Services (ABS) departments across the firm, proud to work closely with audit partners and staff to provide accounting and auditing advice that's relevant, timely and practical, not just compliant. The team also supports the firm's relationships with FRC and ICAEW, sitting on a number of committees to ensure our views are heard.
As Senior Technical Manager, your responsibilities will include among others
- Providing UK GAAP, IFRS, audit technical support and training via our internal Mailbox, webinars and face-to-face training to ABS and other departments across the Group as necessary.
- Developing and implementing our bespoke audit methodology by working closely with ABS Partners and staff to ensure that it drives audit quality across all offices without unnecessary inefficiency.
- Anticipating and researching emerging technical issues, producing practical written guidance and evaluating current processes in light of new requirements.
- Ensure consistently high audit quality by performing both hot and cold file reviews.
- Coaching more junior members of the team to help them achieve their full potential within the team and the firm.
- Developing firm's external technical profile by delivering external webinars and guidance.
Qualifications
Skills and experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA).
- Good working knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards and their application with practical experience of either developing or introducing new procedures.
- Very good presentation skills - ranging from small groups to larger audiences.
- Project management and experience of getting things implemented in practice.
- Good drafting skills.
