Role Introduction
Senior Technical Programme Manager
As a Senior Technical Programme Manager you will provide leadership, delivering an ambitious programme of content development, technical project management, as well as delivering change and contributing to the delivery of technology with key stakeholders. This is a leadership position and has full accountability for the successful outcome of strategic initiatives within the Product Engineering organisation. A proven ability to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives is critical for the success of this role. As a natural leader, this person should have strong talent for coordination and delegation, as well as building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with Engineering VPs, cross-functional teams, and other key stakeholders to define the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
- Manage technical programmes and projects for optimal return on investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives
- Identify key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors as required
- Be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives
- Work with teams to ensure product and technical work-packages are broken down, sequenced, and resourced in a way that delivers maxim business value, minimises risk, and achieves the company objectives
- Analyse, evaluate, and track programme risks, providing a clear mitigation strategy
- Support as necessary in managing the current portfolio of projects
- Ensure that scope is monitored and controlled on projects and that any deviation is proactively addressed through re-planning and change control, where necessary, to safeguard programme baselines.
What You Will Have
- Must have experience of leading significant technical programmes with a focus on internal stakeholder management, reporting and team management.
- Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, facilitation, and organisation
- Experience of managing complex technical/software projects using established project/program management disciplines and methodologies.
- Proven track record of delivering multiple technical or digital projects and/or products that meet business outcomes and drive value for the business
- Experience cultivating and facilitating Agile, Lean, and Waterfall methodologies within software development teams
- Peer, senior, and executive stakeholder management, including influencing, reporting, and communication.
- Proven track record of working with distributed and remote development teams.
- Work management tools such as JIRA, Harness
- Recognized project management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, etc. is preferrable.
