Job Description

About you

You are an individual with a strong problem-solving mindset, doing what it takes to solve the problem for the customer, internal or external. You have excellent communication skills, you're a good listener and you're able to adapt approach based on whom you're interacting with.

You have significant experience of gathering and documenting high quality business requirements, interacting with business stakeholders through workshops, interviews, meetings, and written communication. You have worked in an agile environment, collaborating closely with engineers and architects.

You have a strong technical understanding of data development and technologies, including data lake, data preparation steps and ETL/ELT processes. You have a keen Interest In data and focus on data quality and data governance. Experience working with large data sets is a plus.

You are approachable, collaborative and you actively nurture a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Ideally you have experience of managing a data product, taking it from conception to go-live, through the product development lifecycle and measuring success across key KPIs.

About the role

As a Technical Business Analyst within the AI Platform at ASOS, you will maintain a prioritised backlog for the Big Data teams in Belfast, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders from across Tech including Product Managers, Data Scientists, Engineers and Architects to prioritise requests into the teams.

You will gather, understand and document high level business and non-functional requirements and turn them into accurate user stories. You will refine the stories with the team and lead planning meetings each sprint.

You will assess the potential value of new initiatives and prioritise them in line with the platform Objectives and Key Results. You will articulate the busines value of technical pieces of work and become and expert In the ASOS data domain.

At ASOS, as an online only retailer, we have unique datasets: transactions and click streams for millions of customers and photos, videos, and text descriptions of hundreds of thousands of products.
