Overview:
The Senior Technical Accounting Manager will join the Technical Accounting Group (TAG), part of MUFG Corporate Markets Treasury Limited. The role is based from our stunning central office in London on a hybrid basis, so you'll need to be within a commutable distance to enable you to be in the office when required.
You'll have responsibility for the delivery of technical accounting services to clients of the treasury team, in addition to attending technical account team engagements for clients as required. You will be responsible for complex financial reporting issues, tackling client's needs with a solution-oriented approach that creatively addresses complex financial reporting problems for high profile transactions.
The team are problem solvers and as a Senior TAM, you'll help solve complex issues from strategy to execution, working with an extensive UK client list, deepening your existing technical accounting knowledge and all whilst being supported by a collaborative team.

What you need:
As with any role, we want to find the right person and we want to make sure you know it's the right role for you too. You will need:
• The drive and desire as a finance professional with proven technical capability to constantly and consistently deliver on multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met
• 5+ years as a Qualified Accountant, with 10 years Treasury Management / accounting experience in Local Government as a minimum
• In depth experience of using CIPFA Codes of Practice / UK GAAP and understanding of the Statutory requirements that apply to Local Government finance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain complex financial information, building and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• An ability to understand client needs and requirements, outlining suitable solutions and devising strategies that are tailored to each prospective client
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a professional demeanour and an ability to self-motivate whilst motivating others
• A commitment to exemplary client service delivery, with a demonstrable ability to structure and perform technical projects, managing client expectations and relationships
• An excellent working knowledge of Windows operating systems, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility, with a willingness to travel, including to client engagements, if required
• Previous management experience in a similar role
Nice to have:
• PQE / Fellowship is desirable
Day to Day, you will:
• Provide technical accounting support and advice as part of the TAG team to deliver consultancy-based work as defined in client specification(s)
• Support the Technical Accounting Group (TAG), to achieve business plan targets
• Lead and assist with the preparation of tender specifications and proposals as required
• Support TAG, Client Relationship Managers and Executives with technical accounting queries
• Develop and participate in marketing initiatives, whether that be conferences, seminars, events and publications
• Line Manage of a Senior Technical Accountant, supporting their wellbeing, professional development, training and skills, and knowledge growth
• Interpret and clearly present solutions to complex financial issues. challenges that clients have asked for advice on, understanding that outputs may need to be delivered both in written format and verbally at meetings
• Maintain regular contact the Team, your line manager and the CRM's, in order to manage the expectations of clients which helps ensure client satisfaction, reporting progress both internally and externally where applicable
• Support the research and development of technical accounting changes and the support of consultation responses
• Execute multiple projects and priorities on a daily basis
• Understand and clearly present complex financial information / problems arriving at solutions in writing and verbally in an appropriate way
• Assist in the preparation of training materials and publications, as well as presenting training to clients in MUFG Corporate Markets Treasury Limited, which may include technical workshops, seminars and webinars, with appropriate support provided from the Team and the Director as required
• Produce technical accounting work delivered by TAG, including Balance Sheet Reviews, Fair Value reports and Due Diligence reports to assess the opinions of investments
