The service you will work in....

Our Modern Slavery Response Service works with potential survivors of Modern Slavery identified via the National Referral Mechanism. We support thousands of survivors to access services to support their recovery and reintegration. This includes high quality emotional and practical support.

The Innovation Manager will be responsible for leading a team delivering innovative projects and services to survivors of modern slavery, raising awareness about modern slavery and strengthening Hestia's position as a leading player in the field of survivor support.

The Innovation Manager will oversee a range of innovative and evidence-based programmes designed with survivor participation for survivors; lead the growth of our volunteer programme and external training offer, work closely with internal and external stakeholders, and support the Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract team where needed.

You will report to the Director and be part of the strategic senior leadership team. You will act as an ambassador for Hestia externally. You will supervise various coordinator roles and our Training manager.

A day in this role looks like....

As a Innovation Manager at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Modern Slavery Response Service . Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

  • Lead the successful operational delivery of multiple programmes supporting survivors of modern slavery in London; including Child & Family, Volunteer, and Activities programmes. This will likely include an ambitious Employability Programme, amongst others in the future.
  • Manage a team, including performance management, development, supervision and appraisals.
  • Engage in recruitment, induction and training of staff under your line management.
  • Manage all elements of programme performance related to the requirements of the funders, Hestia's internal KPIs, and service user experience measures.
  • Ensure that the operational service delivery is provided in line with the Hestia Approach and trauma informed practice.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the service's annual Business Plans, ensuring plans are aligned where possible with other relevant local Hestia services and the service's strategy.
  • Assist the Director and Hestia Finance Team & FUNC in planning, negotiating and managing the budgets for the service.
  • Work closely with FUNC colleagues to secure new income.
  • Engage with external stakeholders (donors, corporate partners, trusts etc) when requested to secure funding.
  • Write progress reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Lead on the timely and accurate submission of all internal and external reports.
  • Manage the financial accountability of the team by operating within Hestia's financial policies and procedures.
  • Identify and lead on awareness raising opportunities, with support from the Director.
  • Lead our flagship Art is Freedom exhibition.
  • Support with the development of our research.
  • Manage the Training manager, and support with the development of our external training offer.
  • Oversee internal and external publications where relevant.
  • Implement the MS Standards within the service.
  • Manage budgets and project plans.
  • Support with administrative requests when needed.
  • Undertake disciplinary and grievance investigations and chair hearings using the organization's procedures when required.
  • Support with data requests.

  • Demonstrable experience of managing complex programmes simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders to deliver project outcomes.
  • Experience of performance monitoring and using data to improve service delivery.
  • Experience of developing and leading services co-produced with service users.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a high performing team.
  • Ability to deliver high quality reports under time pressure; and prioritize.
  • Ability to present to and engage a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to succinctly summarize business needs, develop business plans and deliver outcomes in line with a strategy.
  • Demonstrable understanding of modern slavery legislation including the National Referral Mechanism and the Home Office.
  • Demonstrable curiosity about policy changes in the modern slavery sector.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
  • A good standard of written and spoken English with the ability to produce professional reports.
  • Great organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of strong administrative skills, record-keeping and budget management.
  • Experience managing corporate relationships or partnerships.
  • Experience of project design and project evaluation.
  • Experience of bid writing, or fundraising.
