About the Role

Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, London, or Dublin

Salary: £55,200 - £83,000 + performance related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

As a Senior Talent and Leadership Development Consultant, you will play a critical role in shaping our future leaders and driving strategic growth. Working closely with our Learning and Development Partners, Head of Inclusion & Diversity, and HR Business Partners, you'll design, implement, and evaluate innovative leadership programmes that support SSE's delivery of NZAP+. Your expertise in coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement will be key as you develop senior talent through creative and impactful interventions. You'll introduce and apply insights from industry trends, emerging technologies, and academic research, and bring exceptional skills in engaging and consulting with senior stakeholders. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence our leadership culture and build capabilities that truly make a difference. The main duties of the role include:

  • Designing, delivering, and evaluating a range of senior leadership development programmes, from team facilitation and coaching to executive development. Leveraging external thought leadership and innovative methods to provide best-in-class external Executive Development options.
  • Leading the development of our Coaching Academy, managing both internal and external coaching relationships to deliver impactful results. Training and supporting a network of internal coaches and provide strategic coaching to senior leaders.
  • Developing and implementing mentoring strategies across the organisation, including a reverse mentoring programme for senior leaders. Monitoring the quality and impact of mentoring to ensure continuous development through the creation of communities of practice.
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored leadership development solutions. Using your expertise to influence and challenge effectively to ensure solutions are innovative, inclusive, and aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborating closely with Learning Partners and HR to drive the talent management process, ensuring that leadership development is integrated into broader organisational strategies and supported by robust data and reporting.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • A coaching qualification and experience in managing executive coaching programmes. Qualified to deliver a range psychometrics including but not restricted to Insights, Hogan, 360 degree feedback, and ESCI.
  • Proven success in designing and delivering leadership development programmes and mentoring strategies.
  • Experience in consulting with and influencing senior business stakeholders to deliver successful development interventions.
  • A broad range of HR and business experience to effectively link development to the broader people strategy.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of demonstrating return on investment for development initiatives.
