Senior Surveyor
Role Purpose
This Senior Surveyor role is within the London Based International Valuation team, who manage cross-border valuation assignments. Primary responsibilities will include the close liaison with clients and our network of CBRE offices across the EMEA region in order to deliver consistent reporting. You should be able to critically review and interrogate valuations and reports and have a strong understanding around valuations and particularly DCF methodology and be proficient with Argus Enterprise and Excel based models. An ability to navigate market intelligence across multiple asset classes and geographies the individual will need to build a strong network with our Capital Markets division in the region. Having additional technical skills beyond real estate valuation including advanced excel modelling, Power BI knowledge would be advantageous. . You will be required to travel across the EMEA region, where required and on more complex assignments, work directly on preparing valuations/reporting with oversight and support from senior colleagues. The individual will also collaborate with other members of the wider UK based valuation team in London and Hyderabad to ensure high quality valuations are delivered to clients and drive operational efficiency. They will play a key role in the supervision and quality assurance of work completed by the Hyderabad team.

This role will work primarily within the International Valuation Division (working primarily on Fund Valuation assignments) .
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting in the management of European Cross-Border Valuation assignments, including project management, valuation interrogation and reporting reviews.
- Conduct valuation and advisory work, alongside senior members of the team, for loan security, accounting, fund reporting, investment, etc purposes (remove or add as necessary).
- Conduct physical property inspections (across UK and in EMEA) and assist senior valuers with more complex inspections.
- Collaborate with other members of the Hyderabad and London Valuation team on the valuation process and undertake quality control of their work.
- Manage opportunity records up to execution
- Conduct technical aspects of property due diligence and review changes to valuation data.
- Select appropriate comparables, performing analysis, and drawing conclusions.
- Perform valuation modelling (including DCF modelling), calculations and analysis and support for senior valuers on more complex valuations.
- Close liaison with clients ensuring high quality advice is consistently delivered.
- Preparation of reports.
- Help with revenue recognition and provide necessary paperwork.
- Support senior members of the team with business development, RFPs and pitch activities.
- Complete 'activate' set up in TOPS2.
- QRM compliance.
- Gather and share relevant market intelligence and support senior members of the team with other value-add tasks.
- Support with training and mentoring more junior members of the team to develop management skills.
- Work flexibly across sectors and services within the Division and support other Divisions as and when required.
Person Specification/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Real Estate, Surveying, or a related field.
- MRICS qualified or equivalent, with a minimum of 18 months post qualified experience
- Knowledge of property valuation methodologies and techniques
- Proficiency in using valuation software and tools, such as Argus Enterprise & Developer and Excel.
- Proficiency in reporting and data analytical tools to drive operational efficiency and reduce potential data transposition errors.
- Ability to use other Microsoft tools such as Powerpoint and Power BI would be beneficial.
- Good understanding of property market trends and factors influencing property values
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in property valuation
- Willingness to learn and develop professional skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and support senior valuers, but also able to operate autonomously in an efficient and productive manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling the development of good relationships with both clients and colleagues
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks, delegate where appropriate and meet deadlines
- Enjoys working under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Valid UK driving licence - if applicable.
