Role Purpose

Leisure & Self Storage form part of the Operational Real Estate (OPRE) segment at CBRE. OPRE covers transaction, valuation and advisory work across a range of dynamic and growing sectors including hospitality, hotels, healthcare, leisure, roadside & automotive.

The Leisure & Self Storage team deal with valuations, advisory, investment transactions and both debt and equity raising. These service lines work closely together, and we strongly encourage developing relationships across the teams and developing cross-sector insights.

We are now looking for a Senior Surveyor or Associate Director to join our team and provide Valuation and Advisory services to key clients in the sector. The role would cover both self storage and other leisure assets, however with a focus on self storage.

This role will appeal most to individuals who are looking forward to being part of a rapidly growing and evolving sector, which is bucking the trends seen by many conventional sectors. Here, you will be part of a team which enjoys a leading presence in the market, collaborating on projects across the UK and Europe. You will have the opportunity to create your own niche specialism in a key growth area of property, whilst working in a hugely enthusiastic and diverse business that will allow you to thrive and develop your ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake trading and investment valuations together with due diligence for loan, acquisition and financial reporting purposes in the UK and pan-European region. Clients include Big Yellow Group Plc, Shurgard Europe, Center Parcs UK and Mitchells & Butlers PLC.
  • Dealing directly with clients and preparing terms of engagement
  • Preparing business analyses and valuation models (Excel focussed)
  • Preparation of detailed reports (business plans, feasibility and valuation reports) and presentation of valuation advice to clients.
  • Job set up and project monitoring on internal systems
  • Providing support on transaction projects
  • Assisting with sector research projects
  • Developing relationships with clients
  • Attending industry events and promoting CBRE services
  • Developing a personal brand in the leisure and self storage sectors

Person Specification/Requirements:

  • MRICS and registered valuer.
  • Interest in the relevant sectors and the capability to adapt to a varied workload.
  • Ability to analyse and communicate complex proposals.
  • Self-motivated while working as part of an energetic and enthusiastic team.
  • Experience in using Excel.
  • In a position to travel across the UK and Europe for property inspections.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to form strong professional relationships with both clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Report writing experience and the ability to help with pitches.
  • Experience in the valuation of property valued with reference to trading potential.
  • Knowledge of management accounts and business KPIs would be advantageous.
