Objective of role
Richmond & Wandsworth Better Service Partnership present a unique opportunity to join the Home Improvement Agency (HIA) based in Twickenham. The Home Improvement Agency (HIA) is a well-established team specialising in home adaptations and improvements for a diverse client base. In partnership with local and central government, we strive to improve living conditions and make homes more accessible and safe.
The HIA works closely with the Occupational Therapy service to meet the individual needs of clients, which enables them to continue to live independently for longer.
About the role
The Home Improvement Agency (HIA) is looking to appoint a competent and detail-oriented Senior Surveyor to work in the borough of Richmond. Your role will involve assessing home environments, drawing up plans for adaptations and improvements, and ensuring all projects comply with relevant regulations and quality standards.
You will be required to carry out full property surveys, explain options, produce detailed drawings/ plans and produce detailed schedules of work. You will be expected to manage a number of projects whilst delivering and meeting targets. You will also need to demonstrate that you are able to manage and monitor the work of contractors to ensure that they meet key performance indicators, ensuring that adaptations are completed to the specified standard.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a home improvement agency or related sector.
Qualifications-Surveying, building or construction related qualification (e.g. BTEC, HND, CIOB) or min 5 years' experience working as a surveyor
Experience with private sector grants and an understanding of the Disabled Facilities Grant process
Strong technical knowledge aptitude and proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CAD, project management tools).
Experience of working with clients who are vulnerable due to old age, physical disabilities and mental health
