National Instruments (NI) is proud to be a part of Emerson's new test and measurement business group. The Support Services team partners with customers to ensure their success through deep technical knowledge of Products, Platforms and Systems. Support Engineers respond to and anticipate technical needs to help maintain or accelerate our customers' development schedule, building customer loyalty and gaining a reputation as trusted technical partners. Support Engineers advocate for our customers by recommending Platform and System improvements to R&D, providing customer insight to sales, and making sure NI is ready to support new Products and Systems.

The Role:

ADG Senior Support Engineers are product and system experts providing consultation and support services to strategic NI customers. They work closely with account teams and domain experts within R&D to drive customer and account success.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide paid consultation and premium support services to NI ADG accounts.
  • Collaborate with sales and pre-sales engineering teams to uncover and execute technical consulting engagements.
  • Resolve issues by applying deep technical knowledge, complex problem-solving skills, and collaborating with a global network of peers.
  • Proactively develop and maintain a deep understanding of NI products and systems through formal training and continuous self-development.
  • Take ownership of internal product and system escalations, interfacing with R&D when needed.
  • Publish customer facing knowledge base content.
  • Report product issues or bugs to R&D.
  • Mentor junior colleagues in area of specialization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Eligible for SC/DV security clearance - a must
  • 3-5+ years working experience with NI software/hardware tools.
  • Proficiency in text-based programming (e.g. C++, Python, .NET)
  • BSc/BEng/MS/PhD in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline.
  • Experience with a demonstrated ability in problem-solving, effectively diagnosing technical issues, and proposing reasonable solutions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% within UK/Europe

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NI certifications (e.g. CLA, CLD, CLED, CTA, CTD)
  • Experience working in Aerospace, Defense, Government industries
  • Support or customer facing experience

Success Factors:

  • Ability to independently identify and solve application-specific system engineering problems.
  • Effectively interact and communicate with customers, account teams, R&D, and management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, work ethic, growth mindset, and drive to succeed.
