Job Description
Key Responsibilities:-
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost and ensure availability of raw materials, equipment, and services.
- Develop and implement supply planning strategies to meet production targets and minimize stock outs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and create accurate supply plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve supply chain issues.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best terms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans when necessary.
- Manage inventory levels to meet production requirements while minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and negotiate favorable terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to optimize stock holdings and reduce lead times.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze market trends and conduct market research to identify new suppliers and potential cost savings.
- Continuously improve processes and systems to enhance supply chain efficiency and reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and systems.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the procurement team.
Competencies:
- Strong analytical Skillset & ability to work with large datasets.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain management with a focus on forecasting and planning with excellent knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain processes and regulations
- Forward Thinking - The ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and adept at building collaborative relationships.
- Ability to prioritize workload appropriately.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products, advanced Excel.
- Possess attention to detail, is financially aware, firm, with experience of resolving complex problems and troubleshooting.
- Confident, pro-active and enjoys a challenge.
- Essential - Fluency in English. Educated to higher level of education including English and Mathematics.
- Essential - Strong Experience of SAP or equivalent ERP System, or CRM (NetSuite/SAP/Sage)
- Desirable - Understanding & Experience of Logistics (Import/Export & Haulage)
- Desirable - DG IATA Certified
- Desirable - CIPS
- Desirable - Educated to degree level.
- Desirable: Purchasing Module of SAP - PR/PO/GRN/Planning or similar ERP.
Qualifications
Essential Experience:-
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply planning and procurement within the pharmaceutical industry
- The successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of material resource planning & procurement processes and managing all aspects thereof.
- Extensive SAP experience.
- Experience working as planner/buyer within a busy GMP manufacturing environment.
- Experienced in dealing with Suppliers, Shared Service Centre & Internal Departments
- Experienced in resolving supplier invoicing issues is essential.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Excel & Outlook are essential).
- Experience of previously working in a Finance/Accounts Department beneficial.
- Knowledge of GMP procedures preferable
- Experience Implementing & managing compliance to a site wide procurement policy.
Essential Qualifications:-
- CIPS or Business administration qualified or studying towards CIPS or Business administration is preferable.
