The Senior supply chain Quality control manager is responsible for overseeing the Quality Control and Food Safety agenda across all PepsiCo-owned and third-party manufacturing sites within the Business Unit (BU). This position supports BU E2E SC Leaders in delivering business plans and ensures the delivery of top-quality products to regional markets, delighting customers and consumers.

This Is a homebased contract with travel required 50% of the time across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead site teams in the BU to support the delivery of top-quality products to regional markets.
  • Standardization: Roll out the implementation and standardization of global and sector Quality and Food Safety systems, processes, and procedures across PepsiCo and third-party sites.
  • Capability Building: Build QFS functional capability and competency at all sites in the BU through appropriate programs (Quality University / SC College).
  • KPI Execution: Lead QCFS E2E agenda and KPI execution by site teams across all PepsiCo and third-party sites
  • LEAN Approach: Adopt LEAN (smart compliance) approach at PepsiCo and third-party plants, implementing standardized QFS processes and tasks to enhance productivity in QCFS day-to-day performance.
  • Analytical Excellence: Ensure analytical excellence across the BU by implementing standard laboratory platforms (lab software, lab equipment, consumables, chemicals, methods, and testing programs), contributing to Manufacturing over heads and Cost per unit reduction.

Projects:

  • Provide QCFS support and guidance to Growth, Productivity, and Innovation projects in the BU, ensuring full QFS compliance of the product and processes affected.

Incident Management:

  • Be a member of the BU Incident Management team.
  • Provide oversight of product incident management procedures, contributing to formal risk assessments, root cause analyses, and clear recommendations for in-market actions to BU General Managers.

Financial Management:

  • Manage personal travel and expenses budget totaling $10 million.

Non-Financial Management:

  • Develop QFS functional capability and leadership competency of Site QC managers, creating a strong team of professionals supporting E2E SC business performance.
  • Collaborate with QC&FS E2E Region Lead to deploy and execute Global FSQA standards and statutory regulations across BU sites.
  • Establish appropriate wiring/networking with all support functions to facilitate smooth delivery of objectives.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification food, chemistry, engineering.
  • Previous experience in a site QC / FS leadership role in the food industry.
  • Cross-category experience advantageous.
  • Strong communication / presentation skills - ability to explain technical issues / solutions to a non-technical audience.
  • Must be willing to travel locally.
  • High degree of functional competence, technical understanding and knowledge of QC&FS processes.
  • Recognized as local Quality Leader / Expert.
  • Strong networker beyond functional limits and able to represent PepsiCo externally (with Co-man and Franchise technical managers).
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to interpret complex data and distill into useful and actionable information.
  • Results oriented.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated - drive for results and able to deal with uncertainty.
  • Familiar with Continuous Improvement Tools and Methods.
