Job Description
Salary: 47,450 - c.£59,300 pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

As a Senior Supplier Relationship Manager (SSRM) play a key role in implementing the Supplier Relationship Management framework with Strategic and Key suppliers. The SSRM will lead a team of up to 7 people with a mix of HS2 employees and consultant support. The SSRM will manage a portfolio of HS2's most important suppliers. They will be responsible for the management of SRM Framework activities that identify and deliver relationship benefits/value to supplier and HS2 alike. The Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) supplier portfolio currently includes Professional Services Consultants (PSCs) Main Works Civils and Stations Construction Partner with whom relationships span c.10years and valued circa £8Bn.
About the role:
- Leadership of a team of up to 7 resources
- Daily management of internal and external SRM resources
- Support the HS2 professional development process, conducting reviews, setting objectives, providing mentoring, training and support
- Responsible for ensuring that SRM Reports and supporting collateral, including periodic reports, SRM training material, benefits and value reporting, case studies etc are produced in a timely manner
- Manage their respective SRM supplier portfolio including segmentation analysis, project plans, monthly reporting, forward work/actions, SRM Tool upkeep and providing regular updates to relevant stakeholders
- Lead all associated meetings, workshops and collaborative events required to support the delivery and development of SRM at HS2, including meeting with senior stakeholders to MD level internally and externally to HS2
- Provide ongoing operation support in the maintenance and continuous improvement of all sources of SRM data and tools
- Responsible for ensuring that the tram maintain a working calendar of meetings and workshops in line with the SRM programme
- Interface with other governance and assurance, IT and systems-related personnel across HS2, DfT and the supply market to align SRM to wider HS2 governance and reporting, systems and interfaces
- Support the delivery of training in best practice SRM to nominated relationship managers, commercial and contract manager and wider stakeholders in the business
- Promote a culture of building excellent Supply Chain relationships built on trust, openness that enhance HS2's reputation in the market place
- Support with the timely and accurate reporting in accordance with SRM programme governance
- Work with other members of the commercial directorate team is cross working between the various groups and SRM is needed

- Ability to effectively engage with both the awarded and potential HS2 supply chain, and any related industry bodies and stakeholders
- Ability to use Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or equivalent Knowledge:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of government initiatives, policies and best practice approaches to SRM
- Understanding of the commercial and contract delivery lifecycle including key activities during market engagement, procurement and delivery
- Understanding of systems and reporting applications including procurement and commercial tools
- Knowledge of large projects or working within/under a similar matrix organisational structure
- Understanding of approaches to, and benefits of, good stakeholder management, internal and external communication, coordinated 3rd party and supplier engagement
- Knowledge of applicable EU and UK procurement legislation
- Knowledge of different procurement routes including use of OJEU processes and government frameworks
- Understanding of project scheduling and planning
Experience:
- Experience of stakeholder and Supplier Relationship Management and Supplier development in both the public and private sector
- Experience of applying SRM intervention activities / arrangements to enhance supplier performance
- Experience within a procurement, financial or commercial governance structure with supporting policy and processes.
