Fixed term for 12 months, 37 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Student Engagement Coach to join our Student Services directorate, here at the University of Huddersfield. It is an exciting time to join Student Services, as we continue to grow in the range of support, information, advice, and guidance we offer to our diverse community of students. This is a fast-paced, dynamic service, which requires individuals who put customers at the heart of everything they do.
Your role will involve working as part of an experienced coaching and administration team to facilitate excellent support for our students. You will support students to identify the barriers to their learning and help them to manage these so that they can better concentrate on their academic work. You will also help to identify students struggling with low attendance and engagement on their course. You will work with the team to interpret data that highlights students that may benefit from further support during their studies and initiate contact with the student. You will meet with students daily to offer support and guidance alongside, responding to students' emails and signposting to wider university professionals, as necessary to support the student's successful re-engagement.
You will be an organised, experienced and motivated professional with capability to deal with a varied and complex workload. A great team player, you will be able to develop effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels and be flexible to adapt to changing circumstances. Your previous experience will have involved using both bespoke IT systems and Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Teams) to deliver outstanding customer service to all.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
