| Salary £43,421-£48,474 Per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | Pro Rata

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to work within the Building Design Team, part of the Asset Management Service at Lancashire County Council.

Our Building Design Team is a multidisciplinary and specialised team. We contribute to delivering a comprehensive capital programme which invests in the county council's property including schools, libraries, museums, and offices. Our fantastic team has an array of experts including Architects, M&E Engineers, Structural Engineers and Building Services Engineers.

What we are looking for...

Communication & Collaboration - Reporting to the Principal Architect, you'll be a confident, knowledgeable professional who can act as lead on the structural design of projects. You'll have the ability to influence and communicate with a range of individuals so liaising with building surveyors, highways, external contractors, suppliers, head teachers etc. as required. - You'll oversee the structural of projects of all sizes from design to completion through a driven and collaborative approach appreciating how engaging with others supports the successful delivery of a project.

Knowledgeable - You'll be an experienced specialist in the field of Structural Design and able to confidently articulate the technicalities and complexities of what we are trying to achieve to others - you'll have a detailed understanding of CDM and statutory regulations so able to challenge practice and process ensuring that we are compliant at all times - you will be working with and instructing staff assigned to you by the Principal Architect, so your knowledge and experience will be key to not only establishing your credibility, but also you'll have the ability to share that knowledge and the develop others within the team. You will lead on the delivery of the authority's statutory duties with regards safety certification of sports stadia and lead in the management of safety advisory group meetings for the authority.

Innovative - You'll be innovative and creative; forward thinking with an eye on future technology both in design and materials - we're looking for someone with the ability to support both the decarbonisation of our current estate and with the knowledge to ensure all new constructions are the most eco-friendly and efficient as possible - you'll have demonstrable experience in AutoCAD, NBS and REVIT plus extensive post qualification experience in traditional and modern methods of construction.
