Job Description

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Stress Engineer, you will join our team in Glasgow to support our activities within the aerospacesector and play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity and airworthiness of major aircraft components. Your work will support the full lifecycle of complex aerostructures, from initial concept design through to certification and production.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Ensure the structural integrity of all projects, delivering approved documentation on time and within budget.
  • Supervise engineers and contractors to meet customer expectations and regulatory compliance (CAA, EASA, FAA).
  • Develop and implement analysis methods, ensuring adherence to Type Approvals and industry standards.
  • Review and approve stress analyses, guaranteeing compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Define project structural analysis requirements, liaising directly with customers to agree on compliance methods.
  • Manage resource schedules, allocate work packages, and oversee subcontractor selection.
  • Monitor project execution, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

  • Strong project management experience, with the ability to oversee multiple workstreams.
  • Expertise in structural analysis, stress calculations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in FEA tools (e.g., Nastran, Patran, HyperMesh).
  • Experience working with aerospace, defence, or automotive design and certification processes.
  • Ability to plan and conduct engineering training, ensuring the team remains highly skilled.
  • Holder of signatory approval (preferred).
