DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a strategic and analytical candidate who can help drive Prime Video's Live Sports strategy. The Live Sports Team within Prime Video brings a selection of sporting content to Amazon customers, including the Champions League in Germany, Italy, UK, Wimbledon in Germany, NFL Thursday Night Football in the US (and much more world-wide). This role will be focused on Europe and some international territories (excluding US and Canada) and be responsible for owning elements of the strategy and rights assessments, working with key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven thinker who is comfortable with ambiguity, problem solving, analytical thinking and working in a fast paced environment. This individual will be comfortable juggling multiple priorities and working with a broad set of stakeholders across different areas of Amazon (including, but not limited to Finance, Econ, Research, Production, Marketing, Programming). They will be equally comfortable in detail oriented working and strategic thinking / workstreams. Sports industry experience is not required (can be learnt on the job).
Key job responsibilities
Leading rights assessments internally to secure leadership approval to bid:
* Understand rights packaging, sport and territory landscape.
* Scope and assess feasibility of launch, working with stakeholders across tech, marketing, production.
* Prepare bid approval doc and business case, working closely with Sports finance and other stakeholders.
Research:
* Own research required for assessments for e.g. understanding sports interest, willingness to pay.
* Work with experts on studies such as conjoint analyses to support new bids.
Strategy and Roadmap planning
* Develop sports strategy for new territories, and review/update for existing territories in conjunction with sports and Prime Video stakeholders.
* Manage roadmap of existing and upcoming properties as source of truth for other teams. Also, own roadmap for input into annual planning cycles.
* Contribute to/own monthly and quarterly reporting docs, and central processes such as goals setting / tracking.
Ad-hoc projects
* Given the dynamic nature of the business, the role may be require to occasionally own ad-hoc projects such as launch management for a new property, or product / process improvements.
* The role will require working with international teams, hence will need a degree of flexibility in working across time-zones.
About the team
The Prime Video international live sports team leads sport rights strategy, acquisition for Prime Video world-wide (excluding US and Canada), and manages acquired properties on an ongoing basis (including relationships with leagues and internal performance, working across stakeholders).
This role will support the Live Sports Strategy lead in assessing new sports rights for certain international territories, and strategic planning.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with end-to-end ownership of major project deliverables
- Knowledge of digital video landscape, including solid understanding of digital video distribution technologies
- Experience with Excel
- Experience in an account management, licensing or business development role
- Experience with data-driven decision making and complex financial/business analysis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA
- Experience in delivering results in a matrixed organization
