Position Description

The QIAGEN Statistics team provides key study design, analysis and statistical support to a wide range of life-improving diagnostic systems for existing and emerging medical needs. As well as working closely with product development teams in our state-of-the-art facilities in Manchester and Barcelona, the Statistics team has a global reach, providing support to teams based in Germany, Spain and the USA.

Key responsibilities:

- Working closely and collaboratively with project and scientific staff

- Designing analytical and clinical studies to demonstrate our devices are safe and effective

- Writing statistical analysis plans

- Supporting with the coding of SAS programs for data processing, statistical analysis and the generation of Tables, Figures and Listings

- Presenting study results to key project stakeholders and inputting into study reports

- Providing support and mentorship to other team members

- Playing a leading role in the continued development and implementation of best practices for study design, statistical analysis and reporting

Position Requirements

- Educated to degree level (BSc/MSc), ideally in Statistics or similar (equivalent experience will be considered)

- Experience programming in SAS or other statistical packages (e.g. R) for scientific and/or clinical research

- Experience using JMP and/ or nQuery or similar software for sample size calculations would be desirable

- Ability to work successfully in a team, liaising with colleagues across different departments and countries to understand requirements and translate these to achievable actions

- Ability to innovate, apply new skills and knowledge and take initiative
