Job overview
As a Band 6 nurse within the Adult Intensive Care Unit at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, you will be able to fulfil your potential in a hospital that makes history. The trust provides care to patients from Northwest London and beyond. St Mary's Adult Intensive Care Unit is a 32 bedded unit that cares for patients from a wide range of specialties including trauma, vascular and medicine.

You will need to have previous experience of working as a Critical Care nurse as a Band 5 or Band 6. You will need to have experience mentoring junior staff and be ready to take on a more senior role within our 32 bed Critical Care department.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered General Nurse.
- Teaching Qualification such as SSSA or Mentorship in Practice, or Equivalent experience.
- 60 Credit Critical Care Course.
Desirable criteria
- Leadership Qualification.
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities
Essential criteria
- Good basic IT skills including use of word,e-mail and internet services
- Ability to organise ward activities and to use initiative.
- Competency in medication -administration including IV medications.
- Skills required to undertake clinical activity related to speciality including completion of CC3N Step 1 - 3 competencies.
- Knowledge of quality, standard setting and audit.
- Knowledge of the NMC Code of Conduct.
