Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Current registration and revalidation
• Qualified in Specialty
• Mentorship course/ Practice Assessor qualification
• Evidence of on-going professional development

Desirable criteria

• Management Course Audit
• Resuscitation Council NLS

Experience

Essential criteria

• Experience in a level 2/3 neonatal unit
• Facilitating and teaching students
• Good problem solving skills dealing with complex cases
• Taking charge of the unit

Desirable criteria

• Middle Leadership Module

Skills/Abilties

Essential criteria

• Able to work independently and supervising junior staff.
• Team spirited Analytical Ability to work under pressure
• Good verbal and written communication
• Motivating staff
• Child protection training
• Interpersonal skills

Essential criteria

• Respect and maintain confidentiality
• Able to accept, give and respond to constructive criticism
• Able to identify and manage stress in self and others
• Able to work both day and night shift subject to service demands
