Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 nurse who want to advance their career in nursing to join The Wharfside clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our dedicated HIV workforce in a prestigious Trust where we are motivated by innovation, the desire to make a difference and our passion for patient centred care.

This fixed term Band 6 opportunity to develop your skills working within the field of HIV as an independent practitioner within our proactive multi-disciplinary team. If you would like to further your career in this interesting area of nursing, our in house training and development programme will equip you with the skills you need in HIV and Sexual Health. Based at St Mary's hospital, providing HIV care of the highest quality to over 3,200 patients, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has one of the largest and most innovative units of its kind in the UK.

Nurses play a central role in the delivery of patient care in our HIV outpatient day ward and this role is continuously developing in order to meet the changing care needs of the patients. The post holder will also have the opportunity to develop skills in Sexual Health, HIV testing and to work closely with our Advanced Nurse Practitioner team on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job
• To lead the Wharfside Nursing team and rotate to triage in the emergency clinic.
• To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients that is compassionate and caring.
• To assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate them without supervision
• To assist in leading and monitoring the performance of the Wharfside nursing team
• To deputise for the Senior Nurse when required
