We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our Teenage Cancer Trust Unit, caring for young people aged 13-20 years.
Are you an experienced band 5 nurse (paediatric or adult) with at least two years haematology/oncology experience, looking to take the next step and become a band 6? Have you competed chemotherapy workbooks one and two? We are offering a band 6 training post that will support you in this journey. This role offers 6 months on the ward as a band 5 nurse, gaining confidence and signing off competencies. If you meet the set objectives within 6 months, you will be offered the band 6 post with no need to interview again.You will have the opportunity to share and develop knowledge and skills in caring for a range of solid tumours and haematology cancers. You will care for patients undergoing a range of treatments including bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
You will be required to demonstrate experience and skills in this area and have leadership, development and organisation skills in order to coordinate safe efficient delivery of care to this patient group.
