Your new role at NewDay

NewDay has used our 20+ years of experience to build a cloud-native and configurable technology platform, which will be powering both our existing credit products, as well as those of new partners in the future. Our business moves at pace, and we're looking for a Technology Risk Business Partner within our 2nd line Risk team to work with our Platforms business as they develop our technology stack, enter new partnerships and launch products onto the market. The candidate will be a champion for good risk and control practices, encouraging compliance, resilience and security by design whilst promoting a risk-conscious culture.

What You'll Deliver:

  • Partner with the Platforms business to identify, record, and assess technology risks, embedding effective risk management at every step.
  • Guide colleagues in designing and validating robust technology and process controls, maintaining compliance with PCI DSS, ISO27001, and other industry standards.
  • Represent risk considerations in critical projects, driving secure, efficient, and resilient technology solutions while challenging assumptions.
  • Review and challenge committee papers, proposals, policies, and processes to ensure thorough risk oversight at the leadership level.
  • Promote a culture that values automated, embedded, and resilient controls as foundational to our way of working.

What You'll Bring:

  • Deep knowledge of technology risk management, complemented by a strong grasp of other risk types, including Operational Risk and Supplier Risk.
  • Proven ability to embed robust risk frameworks and governance practices through a collaborative and partnership-focused approach.
  • Skilled at translating complex technology concerns into actionable, quantifiable risks, bridging the gap between technical teams and non-risk colleagues.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, software-as-a-service (SaaS) models, and information security and resilience principles.
  • Experience working with financial services or tech-based providers within FCA-regulated environments, ensuring alignment with compliance and regulatory requirements.

We would love you to know or learn

  • Strong relationship building and risk partnering skills.
  • An ability to understand the strategic agendas/key deliverables of business areas as well as the broader economic and regulatory environment.
  • Resilient and steadfast. Able to handle a fast pace of change.
  • Reporting, ideally using Microsoft Power BI
