Salary: £50,952 - £57,349 per annum/pro rata

We are recruiting for a Specialist Pharmacist ED and Admissionswho shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

The post holder will be required to lead, provide and develop specialist clinical pharmacy to the Emergency Department and the admissions areas. The post holder will liaise between wards, departments and pharmacy to ensure that pharmacy services are tailored to meet the required needs wherever possible.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will specifically be expected to:

Lead a pharmacy service in accordance with current professional standards and clinical governance guidance.

Ensure the safe and timely discharge of patients from the admission areas

Work closely with the department, care group and directorate and lead on information in relation to clinical and financial aspects of drug prescribing such as drug protocols and drug budget management

Develop and ensure regular pharmacist attendance on post take ward rounds.

Act as a specialist role model and an expert in emergency, acute and general medicine and train rotational pharmacy staff at ward level.

Ensure all staff and teams are motivated, perform effectively and provide high quality and safe service levels.

  • MPharm masters or equivalent
  • Membership of the GPhC
  • Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
  • Independent Prescribing qualification or working towards it

Knowledge

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge covering a range of pharmacy services and able to provide highly specialist advice
  • Knowledge of JAC pharmacy systems
