Our TeamWe've an exciting opportunity for a Solution Architect to join our Payments & Treasury team. As an Architect, we're not just looking for a technologist but for someone who also enjoys solving complex problems and leading form the front to drive out solutions for the bank and its customers.
This is a senior role responsible for technical Solution Design and overseeing and supporting the work of other Solutions Design staff. In general, designs will involve a wide range of technologies and business areas, but some domain detailed knowledge is expected within the Payments & Treasury domain.
What you'll be doing
- Deliver high level designs in support of strategic and architectural direction considering best practice and long-term vision.
- Work closely with business and technology colleagues to ensure that design options are effectively evaluated, and robust recommendations made.
- Co-ordinate activities of others within the Solutions and Infrastructure Design teams to support the bank's business projects.
- Ongoing support, direction, and governance of project delivery against agreed designs and assessment of the impact of change requests on the high-level design.
- Running design forums and workshops with developer, operational, 3rd parties and business colleagues.
- Involvement in internal improvement initiatives to develop the overall capability of the Solutions Design competency.
- Working closely with the Enterprise architects to ensure alignment with the banks strategic direction and target architecture.
- Managing a high performing team of senior solution designers.
We need you to have
- Experience in a Solutions Architecture / Design role within financial services
- Experience of working with a Platform as a Service (PaaS), cloud services and APIs & a range of design experience.
- Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders across the business - strong leadership skills.
- A broad range of design experience
It's a bonus if you have but not essential
- Experience in some or all of the following areas of business: Financial Fraud and AML; Debit & Credit Cards; ATM & POS; Payments (FPS, SWIFT, CHAPS, BACS); Core banking processing; Treasury Systems.
- An understanding of infrastructure, information security, and experience of risk-based design.
- Working with third party delivery partners.
