The role of a Senior Solutions Architect
As the Senior Solutions Architect, you will stand at the intersection of business and technology, engaging with the organisation to understand its needs and providing prescriptive guidance to maximise business value through the use of technology. This role encompasses technical leadership, team management, and active collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions aligned with Blinx's values
Key Responsibilities
Technical Solutions and Delivery
- Architect technical solutions to maximise operational efficiency, performance, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and security throughout all phases of technology adoption and implementation.
- Lead and participate in architecture reviews, whiteboarding sessions, technical workshops, demos, and other collaborative technical activities.
- Ensure all development work, whether Microsoft or third-party solutions, adheres to established architecture and coding standards, taking ownership of design documentation and coding quality.
- Continuously improve the standards and methodologies for solution architecture to enhance project outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of technology solutions implemented by competitors or industry leaders to inform and optimise Blinx's support capabilities.
Team Integration
- Working with the Head of Technology in defining and delivering IT services that align with Blinx's values and client expectations.
- Support team members in a respectful, inclusive, and constructive environment where they feel safe to innovate, take risks, and provide honest input.
- Translate ambiguous requirements into actionable scope to support planning and team direction effectively.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leading teams through pragmatic and systematic changes.
- Share knowledge and expertise across the team to drive operational excellence.
Business Collaboration and Strategy
- Engage with key business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical Microsoft and third-party solutions across the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to Blinx's IT strategy by supporting initiatives that evolve current and future technologies for sustained business improvement.
- Actively participate in cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Represent Blinx values and act as an exemplar of integrity, adaptability, and relationship building.
- Ensure all Microsoft and 3rd party development work meets the agreed architecture and take personal accountability for assuring design documentation and coding.

- Architectural Frameworks: Familiar with formal methodologies for solution design with a strong grasp of concepts and principles and awareness of TOGAF or similar Enterprise Architecture standards.
- Solution architecture design: Expert in specifying effective and efficient software solutions, both in leveraging off-the-shelf industry offerings and articulating bespoke software designs.
- Cloud computing and development: Expert in creating effective and efficient technology solutions, with established experience in Azure (primary), AWS and GCP ecosystems.
- Business analysis: Practitioner in aligning technical solutions with business goals and ROI, including service management of solutions.
- DevOps: Expert in DevOps management, SSDLC processes through to Release Management.
- IT architecture and infrastructure: Practitioner in specifying on-premise/hybrid infrastructure, utilising virtualisation.
- Networking and IT security: Practitioner of computer networks and IT security management.
Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrable history of architecting successful business solutions in complex applications.
- Strong technical background with a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a team leader or similar managerial role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to collaborate on and manage business transformational activities effectively.
