Job Description

The teams

Our Core Network pillar is made up of our Card Processing and Alternative Payments Processing teams. Together they cover every financial partner Checkout maintains connectivity with (VISA, Mastercard, Paypal, and many many more), and process every one of the millions of transactions Checkout facilitates for their customers. The teams own some of the highest traffic and most business critical systems we have, and are on a mission to make them faster, more resilient, and more cost effective; all while constantly adding new features and new partner integrations.

The role

Exposed to the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), you'll work on the specification, design, coding, testing and deployment of various Payments solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate and spirited, lives and breathes Agile and truly believes in participating in total ownership of their product's success. You will love becoming a deep domain expert in our partner's products as much as crafting high performance, high availability realtime transactions systems that operate at massive scales.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

• Strong experience in designing, testing, implementing and documenting APIs and event based systems using C# programming language
• Enjoy learning new skills and using the best tools for the job
• Understanding SOLID principles and TDD practices
• Solid understanding of HTTP and RESTful design
• Proven track record of translating business requirements into scalable software systems
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment workflows
• Great communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Knowledge of microservice architecture and design patterns
• Proven ability to lead development efforts is a plus
• Having an understanding of how the cloud works is a plus
• Payments or financial knowledge is a plus, but not a necessity

• Become a trusted expert in your team's partner integrations and supporting systems.
• Be part of, and collaborate with, cross-functional teams including product management, across a large engineering community.
• Define and design loosely coupled, scalable systems in a wider microservices using industry best practices.
• Stay up-to-date, use, and spread knowledge of the latest technologies from AWS and .Net.
• Write clean, maintainable, extendable and testable code on some of Checkout's most impactful systems.
• Build, own and operate your systems to the highest levels of resilience and service.
• Mentor junior team members and assist in their technical development
