Please note this is a HYBRID position - the team go into the office (Abingdon, Oxford) every two weeks on a Wednesday and for 2 days at the beginning of each month.

This role sits within Doctors.net.uk, a subsidiary of M3 Inc. Doctors.net.uk is the UK's largest professional network of doctors; a closed community used by over 50,000 doctors daily and with a total membership of over 245,000. Products range from a trusted email communications platform to robust news and educational web pages along with our world-class sponsored pharmaceutical content and doctors' own user-generated content. Our mission is to continually improve these offerings as well as identifying new ways to support our community of doctors throughout their careers.

Job Description

  • Plan, lead and actively contribute to the development of web/mobile applications in an agile environment
  • Take ownership of understanding of the whole system and take responsibility for teaching this to others
  • Alongside other senior members of the team, contribute to the strategy and architectural decisions that support the growth of the services we offer to our members and clients
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to junior team members
  • Find ways to improve system robustness, resilience, and stability

Qualifications

  • Experience in full stack JavaScript development utilizing Node.JS
  • Commercial experience working with web applications in a containerized environment, in particular Docker
  • Demonstratable experience architecting web-based solutions and introducing new technologies and tooling into existing systems and processes
  • Experience designing and developing applications utilising databases such as Postgres, MSSQL
  • Experience with front-end web development technologies such as ReactJS, VueJS, AngularJS, MVC
  • Experience supporting and mentoring junior developers with technical queries and best practice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and delivery focused

Desirable

  • Experience working with ReactJS component libraries
  • Experience building out CI/CD frameworks and build pipelines
  • Experience of mobile app development frameworks
  • Good understanding of Agile process
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud providers
  • Experience working with .NET
