Senior Software Engineer

Role:

We are looking for an experienced developer who can take ownership of work items and deal with them end-to-end, managing the design, implementation and delivery of the request. You will be a great communicator who is able to communicate complex ideas in simple terms. We are looking for individuals who will challenge ideas in a respectful manner in the pursuit of a better outcome. It is expected you will be vocal in team meetings especially in refinement sessions and be able to demo work completed in reviews to stakeholders. You should be passionate and take pride in your work with the ability to use initiative to make sure tasks are progressed and workload is prioritized accordingly.

Required Skills

    • Must have 3 to 4 years experience
    • Must be proficient with .NET, MVC, C#, SQL, Java Script
    • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Driven, proactive, positive attitude
    • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
    • Must have Microsoft .NET framework and development environment including C#, ASP.NET MVC, NHibernate (or Entity Framework) and Visual Studio
    • Solid experience/knowledge of an enterprise level relational database management system (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)
    • Experience of web-based client-side technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.)
    • Experience of working with a version control system such as TFS, Git, CVS, etc
    • Experience of working with PowerShell is desirable
    • A good understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design

Responsibilities

    • Ensure all software delivered is of a high quality and complies with standards set
    • Ensure agreed upon development processes, procedures and best practices are adopted and followed
    • Contribute to the architecture and design of the team's development work and ensure it is fit for purpose.
    • Identify, communicate and help mitigate risks.
    • Identify, promote, implement and adopt relevant industry best practices, processes and technologies.
    • Contribute to the coding and development of feature work.
    • Ensure their skillset is kept up-to-date with the technologies that are employed at StarCompliance.
    • Create and maintain easy to understand technical and non-technical documentation.
