Your role: As a Senior Software Developer you will be on the .NET team, working primarily with Kentico and Umbraco, although other bespoke systems are also in use. You will be responsible for the development of internal and external customer-driven applications, including CMS configuration and development of business logic handling, back-end database integration and a wide variety of API integrations.
Day to day you will:
- Analyse customer requirements (including direct contact meetings) and assisting with project budgeting and scheduling
- Liaise with teams/individuals to develop and refine high-level design concepts
- Configuration of Kentico CMS/Xperience and Umbraco websites
- Implementation of application logic using .NET Core and back-end database structures using SQL Server
- Providing and consuming webservices and other software integration logic
- Work with presentation layer - e.g. HTML/CSS/JS front-end
- Work with source control, pipelines and automated deployments
- Perform a wide range of pre-release testing
- Support of existing websites and CMS platforms based on .NET Core and .NET WebForms
- Provide CMS training and support to clients and members of other teams within the company
- Mentor junior members of the team and help drive innovation, efficiency and standards
- Work with the commercial team on winning new work, including helping with estimates, proposals and client-facing presentations and Q&A sessions
- Research new technologies and methodologies
What we're looking for from you:
Experience:
- Relevant qualification
- Knowledge of web-based application programming and database design/integration with particular knowledge of C#, .NET Core, MVC, SQL, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
- Proven history of producing secure, standards-compliant, performant and accessible websites
- Understanding CMS platforms. Specifically, experience of Kentico CMS and/or Umbraco would be advantageous
- And understanding of non-development technologies, e.g. Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, SSL, DNS, cloud computing, protocols etc
- Experience of client-facing activities such as presentations, requirements gathering, regular catchup meetings etc
Other:
- Display strong problem solving capabilities
- Able to work with front-line customer support team to help identify issues and formulate solutions
- Able to work effectively and efficiently in an agency environment, including working to a deadline and across multiple projects simultaneously
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
- Strive for excellence in all areas of software development
