Senior Social Worker

Safeguarding Adults Service

Location: Lancashire (county wide)

We are currently recruiting...

a confident and compassionate Senior Social Worker to work within the Safeguarding Adults Service. We are a specialist, fast paced but highly supportive Lancashire wide service working from two hubs - East and West.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate Safeguarding Enquires (Section 42 of the Care Act). This is a hugely diverse role, working with a range of people aged 18 or over (with care and support needs) who are at risk of, or experiencing abuse or neglect.

As part of this role, you will make Safeguarding personal, ensuring the person or their representative is actively involved and empowered throughout the Enquiry, whilst working in a strengths-based way to reduce risks of abuse or neglect alongside desired outcomes.

Who we are looking for...

Empathy & Resilience - you'll be conducting enquiries into reports of abuse and neglect, therefore will be working on a daily basis with those who need our support the most, using your compassion, empathy and understanding to help achieve the outcomes they express. We are committed to providing ongoing support and prioritising your wellbeing in this challenging but hugely rewarding role.

Critical Thinking - You will be gathering information from a range of sources to determine if abuse or neglect has occurred, whilst assessing risks and completing Safeguarding plans - collaboratively with the person and partner Agencies. You will analyse and record all of the evidence gathered, considering the person's views wishes and any wider support to improve their safety and wellbeing. We encourage and promote critical reflection through regular supervision, peer support and learning circles.
