Older People's Services has 8 residential care homes across Fife, with a team based in each service.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an additional enthusiastic Senior Social Care Worker to join our staffing team in Fife Council's Residential and Day Services at Lindsay House (Lumphinnans), and Napier House (Glenrothes). Preference will be taken into consideration and discussed at the interview stage.
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with good values and a genuine interest in the care and support of Older People; with experience of care in a supervisory role, within a highly complex yet rewarding environment.
The Senior Social Care Worker is a supervisory role, with a focus on leading and coaching the care staff team and ensuring that best practice and high standards of care delivery are achieved daily. The role also requires the organising, chairing, and attending staff and other relevant meetings, contributing to service development and finalising reports. Whilst this post is based at one of our residential homes, our service expects all it's staff move to other units to provide support when required.

The Person
To ensure you achieve registration with the SSSC as part of theOlder People's Residential and Day Services requirement within 6 months of starting in a new role, you must apply for registration within 3 months of your start date on the register.
To maintain your registration, you must hold or work towards the SSSC benchmark qualification for the role, complete the required Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) for the role and submit an annual declaration via MySSSC.
The benchmark qualification for this role includes SVQ 3 or above. You must gain additional supervisory or management qualification containing supervision or management theory and practice suitable for a supervisor of a care service with a minimum of 15 credits at SCQF level 7 or above. If you do not currently hold a benchmark qualification, your registration will be granted subject to the condition that you achieve the required qualification within the timeframe defined by SSSC.
You will also provide care and support to individuals in a person-centred way, which meets Health and Social Care standards.
Must be able to work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care and support within our service.
You should be able to work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic and ambitious team.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
