Senior Site Manager

West Midlands

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Site Manager to join our West Midlands Business Unit.

The prospective project is valued at approximately £23m within the Birmingham area and is a new four storey building within walking distance of the railway station. The building will house offices and laboratories where experiments on different types of energy and their usages will be conducted. The project will commence in Q3 of 2024 with Enabling Works followed by the Main Works in Q1 2025 with completion Q2 2026.

The project is heavily focused on carbon reduction and is at the forefront of the design along with other ambitious targets.

The Senior Manager will report into the Senior Project Manager who will be Client facing dealing with the multiple stakeholders, in turn the Senior Site Manager will be responsible for the day to day construction duties with other site managers and engineers working under their guidance.

What you will be doing:

  • Report to the Project Manager or Operations Manager.
  • Assume direct responsibility for the operational team on site, for example Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, Labour and Contingent Worker Managers, in a line manager capacity
  • Be accountable for the delivery of works on site (whole or section), liaising with all functions, including commercial, design, services, planning and safety to achieve a positive outcome.
  • Ensure that allocated projects or sections are completed in an effective, economic manner, to a high quality standard in compliance with the Company Procedures, and Delivering Excellence.
  • Maintain a positive client interface and build strong relationships to supports the business' strategy to secure repeat business.
  • Take full responsibility for the delivery of projects (or sections) on site, allowing the Project Manager to undertake their role without unnecessary distractions.
  • Deputise for the Project Manager when on leave or unavailable.

About You:

  • Hold a professional qualification HNC, ONC or equivalent
  • Hold appropriate CSCS card
  • Be trained as fire marshal
  • 5 day SMSTS
  • Must have experience of working within the Construction industry.
  • Must have experience of working within frameworks and promote a positive set of behaviours at all times.
  • Hold current first aid certification
