Job Description
At Williams Racing, we're building the next chapter of our story. It's powered by smart technology, bold innovation, and incredible people.
We're on the lookout for a Senior Simulation Development Engineer who's passionate about vehicle dynamics, thrives on solving complex problems, and wants to help shape the tools that drive our Formula 1 car forward.
This role is about more than writing code - it's about creating the simulations and models that underpin everything we do on track. You'll lead the development of our in-house vehicle model library, ensuring our tools are accurate, efficient, and easy to use across the team. You'll also design and evolve simulation tools that help us understand and optimise performance, including lap time simulations and ride dynamics. Your work will directly influence our design and development decisions, helping us to push performance boundaries on and off the track.
We're looking for someone with a strong technical foundation - ideally a degree in Mathematics, Engineering or a related field - and experience in object-oriented modelling (such as Modelica) and coding in C/C++. You'll be someone who can combine their knowledge of numerical algorithms and optimisation techniques with their experience developing models of physical systems to solve complex engineering problems.
You'll also be familiar with standards like FMI/FMU and have a solid understanding of vehicle dynamics, numerical methods, and algorithm development. Experience with Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or cross-platform development is a bonus.
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
